Who is selling
The products on this site are sold by Salmastra Swimwear di Carlotta Duranti (sole proprietorship), Via Guerrazzi 20A, 57023 Cecina (LI), Italy, VAT no. 02099830495, REA LI-237201. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to purchases made on this site by consumers, that is, people buying for themselves and not for their business. You must be at least 18 to buy. I ship to Italy, Germany, France, Spain (Canary Islands included, Ceuta and Melilla excluded), Portugal, Ireland and the Netherlands; for other countries you can ask me for a quote. Sales to shops follow separate agreements.
The terms that apply are those published when you place your order: I recommend saving or printing this page.
The products
The swimsuits and other garments are made by hand by me, often with fabrics salvaged from companies’ leftover stock. That’s why there can be small differences in color, print or pattern placement between one piece and another, and between the piece and the photo: these aren’t defects. Some fabrics, once they run out, never come back.
Vintage garments aren’t made by me: each item’s page describes its condition and any signs of wear.
Prices
Prices are in euros and are final prices: I work under Italy’s flat-rate tax scheme (regime forfettario, art. 1, paragraphs 54–89, Law 190/2014), so I don’t charge VAT. For the Canary Islands, which are outside the European Union for customs purposes, there may be local taxes and customs clearance fees on arrival, paid by the recipient. Shipping costs depend on the method you choose and you’ll see them in the cart and at checkout before confirming your order: you’ll find everything on the page Shipping.
How the contract is concluded
You choose the products, put them in the cart, enter your details and the shipping and payment method, and confirm with the «Place order and pay» button. Before confirming you can always review and correct what you’ve entered. The contract is concluded when you receive my order confirmation email, with the summary. Your order stays saved in my system: you’ll find it in the confirmation email, on the Order tracking page and, if you have an account, on the My account page.
If a fabric has run out for good and I can’t remake the piece you ordered, I’ll write to you right away: you can choose an alternative or cancel that part of the order, and in that case I’ll refund you within 14 days using the same payment method you used.
Payments
- Bank transfer: the transfer details are on the confirmation page and in the order email. The order ships once I see the payment; if you send me the receipt, it’s quicker. If the payment doesn’t arrive within 7 days, the order is canceled.
- PayPal or card: you pay with your PayPal account, or with your card in PayPal’s fields on the checkout page, even without a PayPal account. Your card details go to PayPal, not to me.
I don’t charge any surcharge based on the payment method. If you need an invoice, you can request it at checkout by entering your tax details.
Shipping and delivery
Orders are ready to ship in 1–3 working days (for bank transfers, from the day the payment arrives). Delivery times then depend on the carrier. Costs, methods and pickup by arrangement are on the page Shipping.
The risk of loss or damage to the products passes to you when the package is delivered to you. On delivery, check that the package is intact: if it’s damaged, accept it «with reservation» and write to me right away.
Right of withdrawal
You have 14 days from delivery to withdraw from the contract without giving any reason. How to do it, costs, conditions and exceptions (for example made-to-measure and customized garments) are on the page Returns and exchanges, which is part of these terms. You can also withdraw right here on the site, using the «Withdraw from the contract here» function on the Returns and exchanges.
Legal guarantee of conformity
All products are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity under the Italian Consumer Code (art. 128 and following): I’m liable for any lack of conformity that shows up within two years of delivery. To claim under the guarantee, write to me as soon as you notice the defect, with a photo if you can. You’re entitled to have the product repaired or replaced and, if that isn’t possible, to a price reduction or a refund. In case of a defect or a shipping mistake, I cover the return costs.

Vintage garments are used: for them the guarantee lasts one year from delivery instead of two, as also stated on the product page, and it covers defects not stated on the product page.
Custom & made to measure
Small customizations of the styles on the site and made-to-measure garments are agreed with me first: you’ll find how they work on the page Custom & made to measure. The price of made-to-measure pieces is by quote. These garments are made especially for you and are therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal (art. 59, paragraph 1, letter c of the Italian Consumer Code); the guarantee for defects still applies.
Gift card
The gift card is valid for 12 months from purchase and can be used for purchases on this site shipped within Italy. It can’t be exchanged for cash and, if you use part of it, the rest stays on the card until it expires.

I use your data to manage your order as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Complaints, governing law and jurisdiction
For any problem or complaint, write to me at info@salmastra.it: I usually reply within 24 hours. These terms are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to any more favorable protections granted to you by the law of the EU country where you live. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the court of the place where you reside or are domiciled.
This English version is a translation: if it differs from the Italian text, the Italian one prevails.
